Welcome to Megara

Megara was located at the entrance to the Peloponnesus Peninsula. Because of it's location, it's textile industry and it's citizen's (the Megarians) love of money it prospered and achieved greatness in the sixth and seventh centuries before Christ. It colonized throughout the Eastern Mediterranean and founded Byzantium on the entrance to the Black Sea. It would later be called Constantinople and is now called Istanbul.
